The Amazing Spider Man 70´s TV series Ep 1 Pilot
Eh, It’s long enough. I’m counting this as a movie credit.
Hoo-boy…this did not age gracefully at all; but I love every minute of it because of it.

The Amazing Spider Man 70´s TV series Ep 1 Pilot
Eh, It’s long enough. I’m counting this as a movie credit.
Hoo-boy…this did not age gracefully at all; but I love every minute of it because of it.
I missed the Stan Lee cameo in 2; I did see him in 1; but I suppose I looked away for a second in 2. Obviously I saw him in 3. He’s impossible to miss when he actually talks.
I hate to compare this to Superman 3 but…in Superman 3 you had the good Superman and the evil Superman, then finally the fight between Clark Kent and evil Superman. In Spider Hyphen Man 3 you have the good Spider Hyphen Man and the evil Spider Hyphen Man, then at the end, Spider Hyphen Man vs Venom. Luckily the parallels between the two threes aren’t too tight, otherwise Spider Hyphen Man would have had to fight Venom as Peter Parker.
Final rating for the trilogy: hyphen out of hyphen
More Spider Hyphen Man! Woo!
So far I’m actually feeling bad for the villains in these. Interesting.
There’s another Rule of Three here, poor Peter Parker just can’t get himself a snack at the party.
Anyway, I think the takeaway from all of this is that spider hyphen powers require both spider hyphen DNA AND kisses from Mary Jane to work properly.
Ahh, good ol’ Spider Hyphen Man. Until now my only experiences with Spider Hyphen Man have been the Universal Studios ride, a few episodes of the 60s cartoon, and the Weird Al song.
Heck yeah! Willem Dafoe, J.K. Simmons, and Bruce Campbell!
Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008)
Added to watch later because of Brendan Fraser.
Elevator pitch: “What if…Jules Verne’s books…were ACTUALLY REAL?!?”
GRATUITOUS 3D EFFECTS, like, holy crap. It is possible to have 3D that doesn’t feel gimmicky, but this movie doesn’t quite make it there.
My Best Friend Is a Vampire (1987)
I added this to my watch later list because of Robert Sean Leonard, after previously watching House, M.D.
Oh hey, David Warner and Rene Auberjonois! Nice bonus!
This is definitely a goofy 80s movie.
I think it would be OK for movies to play around with the Groundhog Day effect a bit more often.
I didn’t know the future was so … retro. The Computer Space video game, bubble wrap on the sliding door, psychedelic music.
Snape kills Dumbledore.
I only decided to seek out Soylent Green because of the … plot twist; but it turns out that knowing this particular plot twist took quite a bit of wind out of the film’s sails.
With the Harry Potter series, other than knowing about the famous line, I went into it completely blind. The surprise may have been ruined; but it certainly increased the amount of drama for me; because I would tense up every single time Snape and Dumbledore would appear together. When Dumbledore finally died it was almost a relief.
Wow, Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith! I should have watched this sooner!
Seriously, you have an airplane flying away from an explosion and a dog jumping away from an explosion. Why didn’t I watch this 20 years ago?
Holy cow! Brent Spiner too!
People thought it was silly that they were able to upload a virus from an Apple computer? It’s almost as if everyone forgot that Jeff Goldblum is just that good. If he had wanted to, he probably could have hacked the alien computer with only his mind.
I haven’t seen any Rambo movies yet either. I don’t think that mattered much in my enjoyment of this.
I was extremely surprised to see Ryan Stiles. I didn’t recognize him in the first one, so that counted as an extra surprise, after the fact.
I saw Andreas Katsulas’ name in the credits and said, “WHAT?” then found out which character he was and re-watched his scene; once I knew it was him, I was immediately able to hear his voice in…his voice.
